The Glockenspiel 

Permenant Installation

Manchester School of Art

 

The Glockenspiel is an environmental data sculpture designed and produced by a small team of staff and students from Manchester School of Art. It represents a modern take on a traditional “Glockenspiel” clock found on bell towers. The design concept reinterprets the data shown, with time replaced by energy values and mobile data. Energy usage of the Art School building is monitored throughout the day and referenced in LED counters, whilst being archived online.
